What is NCISM and Why It Matters in AYUSH Admissions?
The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine
(NCISM) is the apex body regulating education and practice in AYUSH streams
like:
- BAMS
(Ayurveda)
- BUMS
(Unani)
- BSMS
(Siddha)
- MD/MS
(Postgraduate AYUSH courses)
Formed under the NCISM Act, 2020, it replaced the Central
Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
The NCISM is as

- NEET
UG 2025 qualified (minimum cutoff)
- Minimum
50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology in Class 12 (Gen)
- 45%
for OBC/SC/ST
- Must
be 17 years old by 31st Dec 2025
NEET score is the sole
basis for admission in Govt/Private/Deemed AYUSH colleges.
